SpeechStorm Expands Executive Team in Drive for 2014 Growth

Belfast, 24 February, 2014 – SpeechStorm (www.speechstorm.com) today announced two new appointments to its Executive Management Team, which will help consolidate the company’s growth in EMEA and accelerate expansion into the North American market.

The two new hires are Robert McGarry, formerly of Singularity Systems, who has been appointed VP Sales, and Tom Looney, who joins SpeechStorm from NYSE Technologies as VP Delivery. They join the founding team of Oliver Lennon, CEO, Brendan McCarthy, VP Operations, Damian Kelly, VP Product and Catherine Ewings, VP Legal & HR.

Oliver Lennon, CEO of SpeechStorm, said, “I am delighted to welcome Robert and Tom to the team. I am particularly pleased that we have been able to attract individuals of such a high calibre. The experience they bring to the team, in terms of selling and implementing enterprise software on a global scale will help us accelerate our growth plans, giving us the additional capacity we need, both to deliver on opportunities already identified and to explore new markets and product innovations.”

In his role as SpeechStorm’s new VP Sales, Robert McGarry will be tasked with growing revenue and developing SpeechStorm’s customer base and its partner channel across EMEA. Following 12 years in a variety of roles at British Telecom, he became VP BPM Sales (EMEA) at Singularity prior to its acquisition by Kofax in 2011 where he became Director of Sales.

Tom Looney, SpeechStorm’s new VP Delivery, will lead the company’s development and implementation teams. Tom brings over 20 years’ experience in software engineering and services delivery. His most recent roles include Software Development Manager at NYSE Technologies, Services Executive at Microsoft Ireland and SVP Services for Meridio prior to its acquisition by Autonomy in 2007.

Lennon said, “We have an established and growing base of customers in Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe, and will shortly be announcing our first implementation in the US. Expanding our executive team will enable us to dedicate resources to business development in each of our chosen markets, as well as increase our development and delivery capacity. I’m looking forward to further exciting developments in 2014.”

These appointments are the first of nine new jobs being created by SpeechStorm with assistance from Invest Northern Ireland.

“We’re proud of our roots and delighted to have the support of Invest Northern Ireland, continuing the strong tradition of building in Belfast for a global market,” Lennon concluded.
