New INSPIRE S2 Wireless speaker system from Creative Technology deploys apt-X audio coding for highest-quality Bluetooth stereo audio from a compact, desktop 2.1 loudspeaker solution.
APTX, the developer and licensor of apt-X audio coding solutions, today announces that Creative Technology, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products, is incorporating apt-X technology in a new generation of wireless speaker systems designed for use with multimedia devices, including stereo Bluetooth-enabled personal computers, games consoles, and mobile phones. The new Creative INSPIRE S2 Wireless – a high-performance 2.1 speaker system comprising two, palm-sized 7W satellite speakers and a Creative DIRECT-THROW 19W subwoofer– is the first wireless speaker system in consumer electronics to deploy apt-X audio coding for seamless wireless streaming of high quality stereo sound from compatible Bluetooth A2DP devices. In addition, the INSPIRE S2 Wireless comes bundled with an apt-X enabled Bluetooth A2DP USB adapter for instant plug-and-play stereo audio transmission from a Windows XP, Vista or Mac OS machine with an available USB port.

The new INSPIRE S2 Wireless is the perfect multimedia speaker system for netbooks and mobiles, retaining the Creative tradition of best-in-class performance, this time with superior wireless playback for unrivalled performance. Incorporating apt-X audio coding from APTX, the INSPIRE S2 Wireless provides seamless Bluetooth connectivity (stereo and remote control profiles) with minimum delay and outstanding sound quality. It also possesses a compact form-factor, minimizing its desktop footprint without compromising sound quality – ideal for more discerning users who shy away from bulky or low-grade speaker systems. With two palm-sized satellite speakers, the INSPIRE S2 Wireless speaker system blends discretely into small spaces. These left and right satellite speakers both feature dynamic 2-inch drivers that emit well-balanced audio, while the new Creative DIRECT-THROW subwoofer delivers clean and heart-thumping mid-bass straight to the listener.
The highly-efficient front driver/rear-firing port tube design utilizes acoustic boundary coupling to greatly increase the bass output, ensuring that most of the usable bass energy from the subwoofer reaches the listener. Bass level can be adjusted to suit personal preferences or room conditions. The Creative Inspire S2 Wireless provides a digital volume control on the right satellite speaker, plus a Line-In input for connecting to netbooks, laptops or desktop PCs, and a gain-adjusted AUX-In input for connecting to portable media players (PMPs). A Headphone-Out connection caters to private listening. A dual-colored LED on the right satellite speaker indicates speaker status.
