APT Awarded Belfast Telegraph excellence award

APT have been awarded an excellence award in exporting achievement in this years Belfast Telegraph Northern Ireland Business Award.

In an event highlighting high-flying businesses in Northern Ireland, APT were named 1 of 11 overall category winners in the province’s business community. APT’s core product is an audio compression, apt-X.
Following an investment by Crescent Capital, In 2005 APT embarked upon an ambitious growth plan. Core to the growth plan was the establishment of two seperate business divisions within the company: Audio Codecs and Licensing. To support these plans, APT increased its staff threefold from 13 to 45 skilled staff. Research and development, administration, operations and marketing are all based in Belfast and a team of eight sales and support staff is responsible for operations in Asia, Europe and the U.S.A.
The judges were impressed by APT’s clear vision to grow export sales. Sales of APT’s hardware broadcast products have entred on four key strategies: ensuring the right product offering, recruiting a high-performing sales channel, a serious commitment to marketing and the pro-active pursuit of high-profile and large-scale tender opportunities.
The company’s corporate strategy of pro-actively seeking out and exploiting business opportunities throughout Europe, North America and the Far East has been rewarded with significant growth in international sales.
Exports increased from 87.5% of turnover in 2005 to more than 90% in both 2005 and 2007.
